We combine responsive support, precision engineering, flexible manufacturing, and more than 60 years of electrical measurement experience to solve problems most manufacturers will not or cannot attempt.
Accuracy is not an afterthought at OSI. Our products are engineered for precision, reliability, and consistent performance in demanding real-world applications.
You do not need to know the exact model number or even the exact question to ask. Our technical team will help you work through the application and find the right solution.
Custom does not always mean starting over. Proven designs can often be adapted quickly to meet specific input, output, timing, packaging, and physical requirements.
OSI has developed a library of proven platforms, circuit boards, subassemblies, and product architectures that can be configured around the application.
Ohio Semitronics has been solving electrical measurement challenges since 1964.
We engineer and manufacture accurate, reliable measurement products for applications where performance matters — but what has kept customers coming back for more than six decades is more than the product itself.
It is the ability to call OSI and talk to someone who understands the application.
Our engineers and technical team help you work through the details, determine what needs to be measured, and decide whether the right solution is a standard product, a modification, or a completely new design.
Our manufacturing and engineering teams have spent decades developing the building blocks behind electrical measurement products: Hall Effect assemblies, circuit boards, signal-conditioning electronics, housings, inputs, outputs, and complete transducer and sensor platforms. We engineer them. We build them. We modify them. We support them.
A new requirement doesn’t typically start from scratch. We evaluate our existing designs, determine which proven platform is closest to the requirement, and configure it to meet your application.
Straightforward projects may only require changing input range, output signal, window size, timing, connection, packaging, or another specification. For more complex problems, our engineering team develops a formal design process with defined requirements, design reviews, development milestones, and testing, in collaboration with the customer.
You do not always know the exact question to ask. And at OSI, you do not have to.
Electrical measurement can involve dozens of decisions: AC or DC, current range, voltage, frequency, power, output, accuracy, physical dimensions, window size, mounting, environmental requirements, and more.
That is why we would rather talk with you early.
Our team can help determine whether an existing OSI product already fits the application, whether a proven product can be modified, or whether a new engineering solution is required. Sometimes that conversation can prevent an expensive redesign later.

Ohio Semitronics was founded May 14, 1964, by Dr. Warren E. Bulman. Dr. Bulman’s career included work at Battelle and early development of the emerging Hall Effect technology and its applications to electrical measurement. He developed products around Hall Effect measurement and became an early innovator in power and current measurement technology. That spirit of providing engineering solutions to difficult measurement challenges became part of OSI’s DNA.
Over the decades, the company expanded beyond Hall Effect into other technologies to create current transducers, voltage transducers, watt transducers, frequency measurement, power monitoring, multifunction measurement, energy products, magnetic sensing, and specialized military and commercial measurement systems.
Today, more than 60 years after its founding, OSI continues to do what it has always done best: Deliver what matters most to you.
OSI still sees products return for calibration that have been operating for 25–30 years.
It speaks to engineering, durability, maintainability, and a philosophy that is increasingly uncommon in a world of disposable electronics.
OSI does not want to leave a customer stranded because a product or component became obsolete. When older products need to be replaced, our team works to identify, modify, or engineer a solution that can keep critical systems operating.
For more than six decades, OSI measurement technology has found its way into some extraordinary applications.
Our products have supported systems in defense, passenger rail, industrial automation, energy, oil and gas, data-center battery monitoring, aerospace, specialized equipment, and other critical environments. Some applications are highly visible. Others operate quietly inside systems most people never see.
What they have in common is simple: The measurement matters.
We combine precision engineering, responsive support, flexible manufacturing, and more than 60 years of electrical measurement experience to solve problems that mass-market manufacturers often cannot or will not take on.
Deep knowledge in Hall Effect technology and DC current measurement for applications where precision and reliability matter.
When a component is discontinued or no longer supported, OSI can help engineer a replacement — including drop-in solutions for legacy systems.
You should not have to purchase tens of thousands of units to get a product built around your application.
From simple modifications to complete development projects, OSI engineers measurement solutions around the requirements of the application.
OSI products support environments where measurement cannot simply be “close enough.”
Whether you need a standard product, a modified design, help replacing an obsolete part, or a custom solution for a challenging application, OSI’s technical team is ready to help you take the next step.
